Who we are

The ALTANA Group has been active in China for more than three decades. Today, around 760 employees contribute to our success across multiple sites and divisions.

Across all locations, we combine global expertise with local responsibility and a shared belief that progress grows best on a stable foundation.

In China, all four ALTANA divisions are represented:

BYK develops and produces additives and instruments for coatings, plastics, and many other industries. With production sites in Shanghai and Tongling, BYK combines global quality standards with solutions tailored to the Chinese market. Processes, testing methods and quality benchmarks follow the same standards as at the German headquarters.
ELANTAS operates sites in Tongling (Anhui), Zhuhai, and Hengqin (Guangdong). The company is a leading manufacturer of high-end enamels for magnet wires as well as impregnating varnishes and resins, potting and casting compounds for the electrical insulation industry. ELANTAS provides its customers in China and other Asian regions with first class technology, high-quality products and value-added services.
ACTEGA, located in Foshan City, Guangdong Province, provides customers with on-site solutions and technical service, supported by its state-of-the-art application laboratory and highly skilled technical team. The company is a leader in products for metal packaging, paper and board, and flexible packaging.
ECKART is one of the world's leading manufacturers of effect pigments. Its products are used in coatings, cosmetics, printing, plastics, as well as the autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) industry. In China, ECKART is also driving innovation in metal powders for additive manufacturing, opening new fields of application.
