Green electricity needs strong insulation

ELANTAS’s innovative insulation materials are used where energy is generated. For example, in large wind turbines that are designed to generate green electricity reliably for decades.

The rotor blades of today’s largest wind turbines are around 100 meters long, roughly the size of a jumbo jet. A single rotation can generate as much energy as an average household needs in two days. As power output increases, however, so does electrical voltage. This can cause lightning-like discharges in the insulation system.
