Rethinking metallization

Metallic effects make packaging stand out and feel more premium. At the same time, conventional processes have often been material-intensive. With ECOLEAF, ACTEGA has developed a metallization process that fundamentally redefines decoration.

The system for producing metallic label embellishments eliminates the need for plastic carrier films and avoids the waste of valuable metals.

The result: a reduction of the CO₂ footprint by more than 50 percent compared to conventional processes without compromising on premium visual quality.

Less waste, stronger impact

A label is meant to stand out. ACTEGA’s SIGNITE technology demonstrates how intelligent processes can combine sustainability and design. It can reduce waste in label production by up to 50 percent and enables an almost waste‑free production process using state‑of‑the‑art application machinery.

The result is a distinctive “no‑label look,” comparable to screen printing directly onto the container. At the same time, recycling—such as for bottles—is significantly simplified.

Small change, big impact

Sometimes change starts with 0.3 grams. ACTEGA sealing compounds make it possible to reduce the amount of steel in crown caps by exactly that amount.

That may not sound like much. But with around 300 billion crown caps produced worldwide each year, it adds up to a potential saving of around 90,000 tons of steel. To put this into perspective, this is roughly equivalent to the weight of nine Eiffel Towers. As a result, most beverage bottlers have already switched to this technology.
